Filtering Facepiece Respirator Testing

CMTL has now acquired a TSI 8130A instrument for routine QA testing of particulate respirators, barrier face coverings and a wide assortment of other type of filter media for manufacturers and importers to ensure their products satisfy respective criteria of 42 CFR 84, Health Canada (CSA) and International standards of acceptance.

CMTL also possesses a blood penetration apparatus for conducting pre-screening of isolation and surgical gowns per ASTM F1670 at the fabric, seams and points-of-attachment to evaluate whether they satisfy respective acceptable quality limit of 4% criteria for Level 4 under ANSI/AAMI PB70 and CSA Z314 standards. The testing is conducted to ensure manufacturer(s) and imported products satisfy acceptable quality limit (AQL) of 4% criteria on specific lot or batch sizes.


Mask Testing

CMTL has the capability of medical, surgical and procedural mask testing to evaluate barrier performance properties per ASTM F2100 requirements for Level 1, 2 or 3. The testing is conducted to ensure manufacturer(s) and imported products satisfy acceptable quality limit (AQL) of 4% criteria on specific lot or batch sizes. The packaging information on the carton are to also meet the respective ASTM labelling requirements. The synthetic blood penetration apparatus for testing medical masks can be seen herein for testing at 80, 120 and/or 160mmHg.

Gown Testing

CMTL has acquired a ATI FX3000-IV hydrostatic tester for conducting assessment of manufactured / imported isolation and surgical gowns per AATCC 127 standard to ensure fabric, seams and points of attachment satisfy Level 2 and/or 3 acceptable quality limit (AQL) of 4% criteria outlined within ANSI/AAMI PB70 and CSA Z314 standards. Impact penetration testing is also offered per AATCC 42.
